Extension, alignment, perspective.
Complete redevelopment of a garden located in Wemmel, Flemish Brabant, Belgium. The main constraint was to respect the soil permeability requirements imposed by urban planning while creating a functional and aesthetic space.
This sloping garden was leveled over its entire surface to incorporate a terrace and a swimming pool in a modern style. It stands out due to its alignment with the architecture of the house. On one side, the pool is aligned with the dining room's bay window, while on the other, the terrace and the pool coping extend in line with the façade walls. This alignment is also reflected in the terrace joints, which are extended to the pool's coping.
For this south-facing house, it was decided to choose a lighter water color, ranging from azure blue to sandy under the sun's rays. The highly exposed property boundaries were worked on to maximize privacy.
The use of ivy fences, espaliered trees, and a wooden screen allows this garden to enjoy full privacy for swimming. Lighting was then added to these elements to subtly illuminate the garden and provide a visible perspective from inside the house.
